Hyderabad’s IT corridor has some of the worst peak-hour traffic in the city and one metro line that cuts straight through part of it. Used well, the metro turns an unpredictable peak-hour cab ride to Ameerpet or Begumpet into a journey you can plan to the minute. Used badly, it leaves you at Raidurg with a long auto ride still ahead. The difference comes down to knowing which parts of the corridor the metro actually reaches.
This guide covers the stations that matter for business travellers, current fares and timings, the nearest station to each Yellow Sapphire property, and the routes where the metro beats a cab.
Quick answer: The Blue Line (Nagole to Raidurg) serves the IT corridor at Madhapur, Durgam Cheruvu, HITEC City and Raidurg. It does not reach Gachibowli, the Financial District or the airport. Fares run from ₹11 to ₹69, and trains run from 6:00 AM to around 11:00 PM. For Hitechcity, Madhapur and Raidurg offices, the metro is often faster than a cab at peak hours. For Gachibowli and the Financial District, plan to drive.
The Hyderabad Metro Network at a Glance
The network has three lines covering about 69 km and 57 stations, all elevated. For the IT corridor, the Blue Line is the one you will use most. The Red Line and Green Line matter when you need to reach Nampally, MGBS or the northern and southern suburbs.
| Line | Route | Interchange stations |
|---|---|---|
| Blue Line | Nagole to Raidurg via Secunderabad and Ameerpet | Ameerpet (Red Line), JBS Parade Ground (Green Line) |
| Red Line | Miyapur to LB Nagar via MG Bus Station, Nampally and Ameerpet | Ameerpet (Blue Line), MG Bus Station (Green Line) |
| Green Line | JBS Parade Ground to MG Bus Station via Secunderabad | JBS Parade Ground (Blue Line), MG Bus Station (Red Line) |
Ownership of the network is changing. In 2026, the Telangana government signed an agreement to acquire the operating concessionaire, L&T Metro Rail (Hyderabad) Ltd, from Larsen & Toubro. Services continue as normal, but check the official app before you travel, since timings and fares can be revised.
IT Corridor Stations on the Blue Line
Travelling west from Ameerpet, the Blue Line runs through Madhura Nagar, Yusufguda, Road No. 5 Jubilee Hills, Jubilee Hills Check Post, Peddamma Gudi, Madhapur, Durgam Cheruvu and HITEC City before ending at Raidurg. The last four are the ones business travellers in the corridor use most.
| Station | What it serves | Useful for |
|---|---|---|
| Madhapur | The Madhapur neighbourhood along the Jubilee Hills–Hitech City road | Offices and restaurants on the Madhapur side |
| Durgam Cheruvu | The Durgam Cheruvu lake area; Inorbit Mall is beside the lake | Offices around the lake and Inorbit Mall |
| HITEC City | Next to Cyber Towers, with a skywalk into the mall at the station | Cyber Towers, Cyber Gateway, Mindspace and Hitech City Main Road |
| Raidurg | Western terminus of the Blue Line, in the Raidurg IT cluster | Knowledge City campuses and the closest station to Gachibowli |
HITEC City is among the busiest stations on the network on weekday mornings and evenings. If you have luggage or a laptop bag, avoid the 8:45 to 10:30 AM and 5:30 to 8:00 PM windows where possible.
Nearest Metro Station to Each Yellow Sapphire Property
| Property | Nearest station | How to get there |
|---|---|---|
| Yellow Sapphire Hitechcity (Khanamet, Hitech City Main Road) | HITEC City | The station is next to Cyber Towers, about 1.5 km from the hotel. A short auto or cab ride, or a walk outside peak heat. |
| Yellow Sapphire DLF Cyber City (APHB Colony, Gachibowli) | Raidurg | Take a cab or auto to Raidurg. Our commute guide puts the Raidurg Knowledge City area about 3 km from the hotel by road. |
| Yellow Sapphire Hotel Gachibowli (Vattinagulapalle) | Raidurg | The furthest of our properties from the metro. For most trips, a direct cab is simpler than a cab plus metro. |
For the last mile, official station pages list app-based two-wheeler rides through Rapido and autos through Mana Yatri as connectivity partners at metro stations.

Metro Timings
Official station pages list the first train at 6:00 AM and the last train at 11:00 PM from all terminal stations. Some official pages also show an extended weekday last train at 11:45 PM and a 7:00 AM first train on Sundays. Because these schedules have been revised more than once, confirm the timing in the official app on the day, especially if you are relying on a late train after a client dinner.

When the Metro Beats a Cab, and When It Doesn’t
Take the metro when
- You are travelling east towards Jubilee Hills, Ameerpet, Begumpet or Secunderabad during peak hours. The elevated Blue Line runs above the Jubilee Hills Check Post and Ameerpet road traffic.
- You have a fixed-time meeting and need a predictable journey. Metro journey times do not depend on road traffic, while road times in the corridor can double at peak hours.
- It is raining. Monsoon traffic can turn a 20-minute drive in this corridor into 45 minutes. The metro is elevated and unaffected.
- App cabs are surging. Between 9 and 10 AM, cabs in the corridor take longer to arrive and cost more.
Take a cab when
- Your meeting is in Gachibowli, Nanakramguda or the Financial District. The metro does not go there.
- You are going to or from the airport. There is no airport metro, and the Outer Ring Road makes the drive predictable.
- You are carrying heavy luggage, sample cases or display material.
- You are travelling late at night after the last train, or with a group, where a single cab is simpler than several tickets plus last-mile rides.
Practical Tips for Business Travellers
- Buy digital or QR tickets. Digital tickets and smart cards let you skip the token counter queue at busy stations.
- Board at the terminus if you can. Getting on at Raidurg in the morning gives you a better chance of a seat for the ride east.
- Plan the last mile first. Check how you will get from the station to the office gate before you leave. Large campuses can have their entry gates some distance from the nearest station.
- Keep a cab as backup. If a meeting runs late, check the last train time in the app before deciding to take the metro.
- Use the front desk. For early airport transfers or fixed-time meetings, the hotel front desk can arrange a car the night before.
For drive times from each property to the main tech parks, see our Hitechcity commute guide. If you are in Hyderabad for a hospital visit rather than work, our guide to hotels near hospitals in Gachibowli and Hitechcity matches each major hospital to the nearest property.
